Benefits
Students who complete this course will be able to code mainline programs, subroutines, passing and receiving parameters, nested programs, and external subroutines with static or dynamic linkages. Students wil gain theory and practice in building and working with tables, variable length records, and using the string handling capabilities of COBOL.

Prerequisites
The student should have 6 months recent experience coding basic COBOL programs, recent experience using ISPF/PDF especially the text editor, and should be able to code JCL to run simple batch jobs or have completed the "Structured COBOL Workshop" course within the last 12 months.
