How Does it Work?

Students are issued a web address (URL), student id, password, and conference call instructions. The on-line collaboration software allows the instructor to show slides, provide live examples, answer questions, and assign exercises. Just like a regular classroom, except the student and instructor are not in the same physical location. Students may communicate with the instructor verbally during the session, by telephone, using the "chat" area provided by the collaboration software, intant messaging (if supported in your environment), and email. We have found that some students who are quiet in a regular classroom become very interactive in this format.

Digestible Modules

Please notice that not all of our courses are offered in the Virtual Classroom. We have carefully selected topics that lend themselves to the medium and have modified the materials and presentations into small modules that are easily covered in a brief period. Some courses require that software be installed on student machines or be made available to the student prior to the beginning of class. We proviced complete, tested instructions on how to accomplish the setup successfully and verify that is done properly.

Convenience and Reduced Cost Per Student

You don't need to book a classroom, each student works from their normal workstation (or one with web access). No travel expenses! Students do not need to travel to accomplisht the training.

Making Schedules Fit

Some clients find it is easier to schedule courses in half-day day units with some of the group attending in the morning and some in the evening. This allows students to have the other half of the day to work at their normal duties or to practice their new skills. This is also an excellent way to accomodate different timezones or people who traditionally are late-starters or early-risers.

Also, as different instructors present courses they share ideas with the course developer so that the materials are constantly improving.

Hands-On Exercises

Each course uses a complement of hands-on practice allowing students to feel accomplishment immediately with their new-found skills. These exercises are frequently customized to meet the standards and practices of the client organization so that students are ready to "hit the ground running" when they return to work.

Local Customization

No two organizations are alike. We often customize course outlines and topics to meet the needs of the client organization. Pre and Post Assessments

For clients that would like them, we provide pre-assessments and post-assessments of student knowledge in the skills covered in the course. King Training Resources will provide you with a recap after the course is complete.
